My next job of site work is really starting. Like, starting starting which is incredibly exciting. The money from this job will go to a new camera for me.
My old camera, I didn’t have a name for it, died this past January after who knows how many trips around the world and North Carolina. I found a nice Sony Cyber-shot 8 megapixel camera within my budget, and the Sony camera I had before was pretty much amazing. After being dropped so many times, it went to Florida, England, Paris, New York… It had a lot of experience for 3yrs, and it was a great camera. I could be walking, focus on an image, take a quick picture of it, and the picture came out crazy clear. It was just an amazing camera.
Anyway.
The site I’ll be working on is a photography business run by a family in our church. They’re a great family, and the photography I’ve seen from them is amazing. This is yet another great opportunity to design and to have experience. I’m excited.

Oh. My. Gosh. Not even a week with Wordpress 2.3.2 (Remember how I had 2.1.2 for 8+ mo. and just recently upgraded?), and Wordpress 2.3.3 is available! Ha, yeah, make me update.
Today I got my license, and it feels so rewarding! Finally, one step closer to freedom. Granted, freedom is restricted to 6am – 9pm, but that’s a lot better than nothing! With the license acquired, I can now go back to ‘work,’ and earn some money. I need a camera… I don’t think I’ve felt a loss like this in quite sometime. (Obsessive much?)
I’m really starting to get ticked off with everyone and their college plans. One, I understand the concept of just staying in state (or, heaven help me, in town) for college. You’re supposed to grow and how can you do that if you stay where you’ve always been?… Two, the whole finances/scholarships/oh my gosh, it’s February and I don’t know where I’m going! is really getting to be a drag. I planned ahead and got the money, go cry your freaking river on someone else’s shoulder that you didn’t do the same. When you guys went to prom, I studied. I’m really just sick and tired of hearing everyone complain.
And then I go and help the cycle by complaining myself.
Wahahahaha.

I’m assembling my portfolio for Grace, and I’ve come to an ‘artist’s block’ concerning my last piece(s). I have four pieces of photography, four pieces of websites, and my last two or three are going to be a bridge of photography and computer graphics. I just need to figure something out and soon! Scholarships are on a first-come-first-serve basis, and… I need money. ColourLovers had an amazing article on the colour found in The Wizard of Oz, and I’m often browsing colour palettes for some type of inspiration. DesignMeltdown.com has also been of use–I love looking at websites to see how they’re created and designed. I just need to find something for myself.
Things in life are either filled with piano, schoolwork, site-work, and the constant temptation of shredding every piece of sheet music I have. Lovely, no?
