FM Static, Critically Ashamed
The song I’m currently addicted to is ‘Nice Piece of Art’ from FM Static’s latest release ‘Critically Ashamed.’ This is definitely a pop emo song, but it’s a good song. It is. While it doesn’t scream from the roof tops ‘THIS IS HOW GOD MAKES ME FEEL,’ message is still seen when McNevan, the lead singer, whispers ‘Dear God, I hope You hear me…’
It’s about how we shut ourselves off from everywhere at times, how we make ourself self-destruct by not being vunerable when the situation calls for it; and it’s about how despite our vagueness, unclarity and self-absorption with other people, God is always there to make us ‘feel like a lavender sweater when I’m caught in bad weather in my Volkswagon Jetta. You make me feel like a complete work of art… When I’m falling apart, a really nice piece of art.’
It’s a ‘feel-good’ song. One that you can drive to or wake up to or just listen to when you feel like crap. Go FM Static for making my self-esteem rise! :cool:The song is from their album ‘Critically Ashamed’ which can be heard at Rhapsody, and the lyrics are from Songmeanings.net.
