I sometimes picture God
As just standing over top
And saying -
‘Oh my gosh, oh my gosh -
Shut up!
Why don’t you just be still
And know I am God?
Don’t you realize -
I am the One Who
Gave you being,
Gave you meaning.
I am the one Who
Told the leaves to fall,
Told the wind to blow,
Gave food to the bears,
And give water to the birds.
Don’t you realize -
I am the Creator,
Redeemer,
The Almighty -
Your Dad.
Stop striving, stop wanting,
Stop looking,
Lusting, searching, Longing –
Realize I am God.
Realize I will provide.
Realize I love you.
Be still and know -
Let it consume you
And fill your being;
Think about it,
And meditate on it –
Bet still and know
I am God.’
