Checking into Self-Rehab
So there’s a new layout up. I loved the other one, though, but I agree with the visitors: the text was too small. Themes.wordpress.net showed the theme incorrectly and even after my own stylesheet editing, it still wasn’t corrected. This one’s pretty nice, though. =) My Wordpress has also been upgraded to 2.1.2, so I’m free from any hackers (until the next Wordpress upgrade).
So now that I’m feeling better and I’m medically doing better, I’m trying to get back into the normal swing of things. It’s crazy because I want to try and do things, but there’s a nagging feelings inside me that screams ‘No, don’t try that… You’re too weak to do it.’ I’m able to not only tie my shoelaces and actually put shoes (how I’ve missed thee, Chuck Taylor) on now, but I can also wash the dishes! It might seem uber trivial, but I had problems doing those type of things a few weeks ago. I’ve also increased my piano practice time from 15-20 minutes to an hour, maybe an hour a half. Even with the progression, I feel like tredding water when it comes to other things. ‘It’s just as much a mental battle as it is a physical battle.’
Adventures in Odyssey, my all-time favourite radio program, just turned twenty years old. It started in January 1987, and oh by gosh by golly, I feel so old. I also found out that the person who plays Tom Reily and Bart Rathbone just passed away. After listening to the AIO episodes and podcasts for the past couple years, I’m going to miss Mr. Reily. It’s amazing how these people have so far devoted twenty years of their life to the once a week half hour radio drama that brings some Biblical message out to the public. It’s also amazing to think that with the amount of episodes they produce a year (times twenty), not one of them has been duplicated (same plot, different story), and they always bring out some Biblical principle. Yet another testimony to how God’s Word can withstand the test of time and never be considered over-done, over-used or just old.
