I’m in such a Jonezetta mood… It’s not even funny. :music: If you haven’t heard them, they’re a techno rock band. Sorta emo, but then sorta not… If that makes any sense. :P

So how was everyone’s Vday? I spent mine alone. Am I disappointed? Not really. I ate chocolate. I smelled like chocolate (I’m referencing this post). And I was given chocolate. Seriously. I’m a happy camper. :hopeful: Comparing this valentine’s day to past ones, it was pretty good. Usually, mine just end badly. It was nice to just be able to sit back, relax, and smell like chocolate. :reallyblushing:

I really miss my best friend. :ashamed: She’s been grounded for a month, so I can’t talk to her on the phone or email her or go out to Starbucks with her; and there’s so much I want to talk to her about right now! :umm: The only time I see her during the week is at church, and I’ve been having another friend come with me for the past couple weeks; and I can’t just abandon her to talk to another person. I miss having my ’sista,’ though.

I love Bentley. It seems more and more each day… :inlove: haha, ‘It’s just a phone, Rachel. You can’t marry it like you did your camera.’ Bentley makes me so happy, though. I’ve been having fun customizing, adding pictures and putting tracks on him (so far, it’s at 30/100). I’m experiencing a problem with the audio quality, and I don’t know if it’s a. the person I’m talking to has enunciating problems or b. it’s the phone or c. a mixture of both a and b. Weighing it out, though: free phone and service vs. audio quality… :hmm: I think I can stand saying ‘Can you please repeat that? Excuse me?’ a couple times during the conversation. :P

EDIT @ 7.24pm, February 16th
It’s the person. I just got off the phone with someone who doesn’t have enunciation problems, and it’s just that one person.. :meh:

Slowly but surely I’m updating this site and making it more efficient for 2007. I’ve upgraded to Wordpress 2.1, and I’ve installed a couple plugins to make it more Rachel-flavoured. One feature in 2.1 that I’m not too crazy about is the autosave. As in, ‘I’ll save your post, Rachel, only if you supply me with a title for your post. If not, then SUCKA!’ When I write my posts, I usually save the title for last, so this ‘autosave’ feature is pain seeing as how I make my titles the last thing I type out. *sigh* Once again, weighing the options: updated-ness, better security, more features vs. autosave/title problems. :uhoh: On with the rest of the paragraph… My main projects for the site are to update the section on myself and the section on the site (namely, a ‘past layouts’ page and the credits). I’m also working on more visitor content–like myspace layouts and wordpress plugins. So much to do… So little time. :batman:

I’m going to plug a few things–
Anberlin is letting you preview ‘Cities’ on their myspace page. New album this Tuesday! :music: woohoo! *imaginary confetti*

I listened to the Adventures in Odyssey Podcast this weekend, and they gave the episode ‘Amazing Grace’ to those who are subscribed to the podcast. The episode is about the life of John Newton, writer of the hymn ‘Amazing Grace.’ On the episode, they mentioned the movie ‘Amazing Grace,’ a movie about the life of William Wilberforce, and the Amazing Change. The Amazing Change is an organization dedicated to ending modern-day slavery. I’ve signed the petition, posted a myspace bulletin, made a banner, etc. So I’m plugging them once again here to spread the word. I think it’s amazing how even in the 21st century, there’s still slavery in the world.

There have been a few things going on during my practices that I’m really upset about. This is going to be a pretty long rant, so… For our ’specialty instrument’ presentation, we’re playing a bunch of useless/garage objects to the tune of FFH’s ‘Big Fish.’ The song is already annoying enough, but then we also have to tapping and clanking away to different objects… I’m just not too happy about it all. :( one of the kids just has to sweep in time (sorta like Burt in Mary Poppins when they’re on the ‘rooftops of London… chim-chimeney!’), and he made the stupid comment ‘Can I try something else? It’s getting tiring.’ He just sweeps in time for two minutes, and he gets tired?! You don’t know the meaning of the word ‘tired,’ kid. (For those of you just tuning in to my blog, I have a muscle disorder that’s been acting up since November. Basically, my strength and energy are at the level of zero.) When you get to the point of having problems just standing or putting on your socks or just going up and down stairs, then you can come talk to me about being tired. :biteme: I just… I really get disgusted when people take what they have for granted or complain about being normal and OK when I’d give away Bentley (my phone), Malachi (my iPod) AND my piano just to be considered ‘normal’ and ‘OK.’

In our drama practice, the main character is supposed to be suicidal. Now, I’m not going to knock her talents for acting cause she’s awesome. But I just think she could show more emotion in some place or just really take it another step… Our coaches are saying ‘Yell and scream at her! She’s wanting to kill herself! etc.’ In my mind, it’s just ‘You don’t know what the meaning of “Suicidal” is.’ Again, when you get the point of feeling so worthless, helpless and insignificant that you just want to end it all, then you can come talk to me. Oh sure ‘My puppy died,’ ‘AAR or MCR broke up,’ ‘My boyfriend dumped me,’ yeah, you can get sad and depressed about it, but it’s nothing compared to what I constantly go through.

I just wish people would stop making stupid comments about how they feel or how they act and stop taking things for granted. I can’t believe how so many people just walk around everyday not thanking God that they’re alive and have the strength to actually be able to get themselves out of bed.

And end rant.

Breanne also tagged me. :batman:
Each player of this game starts off with ten weird things or habits or little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own ten weird things or habits or little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you must choose six people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks!

1) I love office supplies. Stores like Office Max and Staples make me have the warm fuzzies.

2) I actually own an N*SYNC cd.

3) I have a hard time smelling things. They have to be either incredibly strong or right next to me in order for me to smell it.

4) I can’t remember anything from age 12 and younger.

5) I play Kirby in between my history class and French.

6) I still talk to people I met at camp 5 years ago.

7) Even though I’ve thrown out everything that reminds me of my ex, I still keep the hackey sack he gave me on my desk.

8) I’m really OCD when it comes to washing the dishes. I’ve had a regimen for the past two years: wash left hand of all suds, wash dish of all suds, wash right hand of all suds. It can then be placed into the dishwasher. :)

9) The only bright coloured clothing I own (that you can actually see) is my lime green Hawk Nelson shirt.

10) Just the thought of me getting a blood test makes me nauseous.

I’m tagging Heather, Nikki, Christina and anyone else who wants to be tagged.
