Reading Plans
I updated some of my smilies.
They’re a little softer and remind me of little rice cakes. :reallyblushing: Not that I’ve actually eaten a rice cake… Surprising for an Asian, but I’m A-OK with it. I’ll probably update the rest of my smilies this weekend unless some big green gooey monster comes out from underneath my bed and kills me in my sleep.
And go me for getting a reward in the 12 book challenge.
I’m really proud of myself for sticking to it, and actually disciplining (sp? ha) myself to read 12 fiction novels. I’m going to do it again this year, and I’ve actually come up with a small list of books I want to start reading-
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire
Skin by Ted Dekker (April 2007)
The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie
The Devil Wears Prada by by Lauren Weisberger
Memoirs of a Geisha by by Arthur Golden
I’m going to try and do a weekly thing of just going to Barnes & Noble for a couple hours to just read and be by myself and (hopefully) start preparing for the Sat’s. I feel like I need some time alone to myself to just be… alone, for lack of a better word.
As much as I love my family and friends, I need to get away sometimes. Being at Barnes & Noble, I’ll also have infinite amount of design books and (cough) Nancy Drew mangas at my fingertips… :inlove:
I’m trying to create a radial sunburst in psp8… But I’m having a hard time finding a good tutorial for it. Does anybody know a good site that tells you how to make one?

May I recommend passing on Wicked? The musical is lovely, however, I opened up the book and the first passage I landed on was a bit in which Fiyero “oils her breasts.” Erm… yeah.

Oh, Memoirs of a Geisha is such a good book. I have a keen obsession with geisha-type things, so maybe I’m being biased. But it’s a great book.

Sorry I can’t help you there. I use PS instead of PSP, but I reckon if you just google ‘radiant sunburst tutorial, psp’ or substitute “psp” for “paint shop pro” you should find some links. That’s what I do, then I just pick through the results until I come across something that is like what I was looking for, lol. Good luck.
Also, good luck on the book challenge! I’m doing one as well and so far I have one book done xD *is a fast reader*

:blank: I suck at reading books. I can’t find any novels that really keep me interested, or what not. So I commend you for being so deligent on your reading.

Eesh cute smilies! xD They actually don’t remind me of ricecakes, but more of mochis. Anyways good for you to sticking to your goal! I actually didn’ t read that much in 06, I really lost momentum around April :X But I’m currently working my way through Memoirs of a Geisha. How did you like it? :couple2:

I can go into Barnes and Noble and spend hours just browsing and reading. I was in there tonight or I guess last night (it is now 3:45 am). I walked out of there with 3 novels and out of Lifeway Christian Bookstore with 2 novels. I am addicted to reading. I can definitely relate to the “get away from everything” feeling. I come from a huge family and it nice to go and have quite “me” time every once in a while. I have seen bits and pieces of the movie version of “Memoirs of Geisha” and it looked really good, but I haven’t read the book.

Congrats on reading all those books. I’m sure you can reach your goal for this year as well.

Good luck on the book challenge! I used to read about a book a week but I just can’t do it anymore for some reason, too easily distracted I guess. I might actually give this a go too.
