ARGH!
And so my week has turned out to be one of those that just suck for no reason. :meh: After my boring weeks and my weeks of hectic-ness, I now have to catch up on the “bad weeks.” I’ve also re-typed out the title a couple times… Nothing just seems to fit as that one simple statement. Things just go bad for no reason at all, and I’m in the middle of it all. :what: It’s not like I haven’t tried to change my attitude about everything: I’m looking at it all with a good perspective and trying to see the good in it all. But even with a change of attitude, it’s still discouraging. Definitely a time when I’d really like a hug.
One of my leaders (and heros) is having her birthday this Sunday, so I made her a card and two duct tape roses. It’s the first time I’ve made something aside from a wallet, and I think it came out pretty well.
I’m really bad at the gift-giving… I love to give gifts, but I find it frustrating at times when I don’t know what they would exactly like or something that even comes close to their liking. I figure, if I make it, there’s sentimental value, purpose and who could possibly resist roses as a birthday present?
So I definitely saw two new movies that I’ve been wanting to see for a while: The 2006 remake of the Poseidon Adventure and the remake of the Stepford Wives. Everything seems to be a remake nowadays, but that’s beside the point… The new Poseidon adventure was a huge disappointment to me.
I waited for that movie ever since I saw the original, and I’ll say it now: SEE THE ORIGINAL AND THE ORIGINAL ONLY! The new one was just… bad. It was a good suspense/adventure one, but it just doesn’t compare to the 60’s version. As for the remake of the Stepford Wives, I thought that one was pretty sweet.
Definitely a plot twist I didn’t expect, and it was really funny, too. I’m hoping to watch the original one on TCM or see if I can borrow it from someone.

The roses are really pretty! What a cool gift. I have not yet seen the remake of Stepford Wives but I am using it in one of my oral history papers so I had to read the plot… definitely different from the first one which I loved, but it’s a different time with a different message I think too. But the casting turned me off.

Well, I certainly hope the weeks to follow will be better. I know how much it sucks to just have a frustrating week all together, so I hope things go better for you. Those roses are beautiful and I’m sure they will like them. I wish I knew how to make roses like that, lol.

Eh, we all have our bad days. I hope your streak of badness comes to a quick end, though! Those roses are pretty sweet. I am very much so the opposite of crafty, and would never be able to pull something like that off.
I completely agree with you on those movies! Poseidon was TERRIBLE! And I absolutely ADORED Stepford Wives.

Hopefully everything will go better for you in the future. The last year and two months, I have been having the hardest time. I guess when I got to the bottom of the chain, I had no choice but to go anywhere but up.
I kind of wanted to see The Stepford Wives, ONLY bc my wifey Nicole Kidman was in it, but I never got around to it.

Man, the duck tape roses came out awesome! I don’t know how people could make such cool things out of duck-tape. You should totally enter that compeition where people make their prom dresses out of duck-tape… you’d probably win. I completely understand what you mean about having a bad week for no apparent reason - I get them all the time. I agree about Posiedon… original definately beats the new one. *hug* :veryhappy:

Duct tape roses sound awesome! I’ve never heard of that one before. As for Hollywood remakes… they generally suck. I saw Poseidon and I was majorly disappointed :/ I haven’t seen the original, but I do know that the remake was pretty bad!
